I’m sure many of you have seen the various videos and youtube videos out there after the latest Presidental election showing numerous prominent celebrities pledging allegiance to the President. They promise to serve, work for and abide by him in the context of creating a better America. Why? When did America get so far from it’s roots. Not that creating a better America is wrong.
The President of the United States is elected to serve the People of America. It’s not the other way around. Reguardless of what the celebrities and popular culture may dictate currently, under our precious Constitution the President is to serve the people and work for them.
Personally I pledge no allegiance to any President or any man, but rather I pledge I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic.
Showing support is one thing and is perfectly acceptable for those that wish to support a President. But throwing away the Constitution to replace it with one man is madness and is entirely against what our country was founded on.
How have so many Americans strayed so far? I feel it’s because so many Americans don’t even know what’s in the Constitution anymore. The Constitution is more than just a piece of paper you learn about in history class. It’s the model for what has made our country so successful and desirable the past 200 years. The Constitution alone can not continue to make America great however. It requires that the people in America continue to lead and live America in accordance to that piece of paper.
Please do yourself a favor. Read the Constitution today. It’s easy to find. Just Goggle it. Read as much or as little you desire. But when you are done; ask yourself, has America in recent years followed the Constitution? The answer to me is an astonding NO. The politicians in Washington have abused the powers granted to them to such an extreme that the Constitution is being trmapled on. The President, Congress and all those elected by the people need to start working for the people again.
The Problem with politicians these days is all to many are busy working on writing their next book instead of working for the American people.
